# Follow brand

> Follows a brand in `workspace_id`, or your default workspace if that's left out, like the follow button in the app. Its ads then show in [Get followed brands' creatives](/api-reference/get-following-creatives).

Only brands already in Adspo can be followed: find them with [Search brands](/api-reference/search-brands).

The follow is yours: the key's owner, or through the MCP, the person who connected it. A brand you or your team already follow in that workspace isn't followed again: that returns `200` with `already_followed: true` and is free, as are requests that fail. A new follow returns `201` and costs 1 credit. Follows are limited to 30 a minute per person.

    ## Rate limits


    - **120 requests per minute** per key. Exceeding this returns `429` with a
    `Retry-After` header. Every response carries `RateLimit-Limit`,
    `RateLimit-Remaining` and `RateLimit-Reset` headers.

    - **Credits per billing period** vary by plan. Each request costs 1 credit
    (`/v1/usage` is free). Exceeding your quota returns `429` with `resets_at`
    indicating when it resets.

    - A key whose account has no active subscription gets `403`.

    - **Changes** have their own per-person limits, across all their keys and
    connections: saving creatives and adding them to boards, 30 a minute;
    creating boards, 10 a minute; following brands and adding them to groups, 30
    a minute. Exceeding these returns `429` with a `Retry-After` header. Each
    costs 1 credit only when it changes something; anything already there is
    free.
